Got Blog Promotion ?

We took 2 months off  with this site as we were working on other sites that pay our bills. This site is a interesting experiment for blog promotion. We are currently being penalized by Google for exposing some blog promotion tricks that were not of the norm. The Google fairy that flys around the web and touch’s sites with there magic wand has touched this site with its wand and knocked us off every search term for google. In the photo you will see a tool I use that is very good for checking the position in search engines for a specific keyword.

The search terms are in italics, you notice nothing comes up in google for the search terms I entered. Blogpromotiontips was on the front page for all these terms 2 months ago when we began our 2 month no content experiment. The google fairy has touched our site and we are not coming up for the name of our website keyword search term.

This is definitely us being penalized by the google fairy. This site is number 1 and 2 in Yahoo for the same search’s so its obvious we are penalized. Why would we be penalized you ask ? Well it is one of 3 things we have been penalized for cloak and dagger type of SEO tricks , nah thats not it. We don’t do cloak and dagger type of Seo. We are publishing loads of duplicate content that was on another site word for word. Let me think no thats not it, I would never use or listen to someone on another blog promotion site as I dont need them I am a SEO expert and have many sites to prove it. Maybe I have published to weblogs or one of those other blog carnivals that steals your back links. Hmmm I have done this as a experiment for a new site, on sites that already established with a PR 5 rank or above it will not effect them, but if you are less than a PR 5 you have made a mistake publishing your stories anywhere except your blog, you might get traffic from where you published your article but guess what your story and backlink and your page position have been stolen by the more powerful site. We have done this with this site but that is not it either as we knew the outcome and it was a tactic that I have to go into great detail to explain and I dont feel like it now. Anyways It is a very puzzling situation over here at blogpromotiontips.com that when we have time we mean to get to the bottom of. We however will start publishing some new content at least once a week. Daily content is not necessary and really there is not that much SEO or blog promotion in the world that could be published daily. Some of the blog promotion sites that do publish everyday are just giving you regurgitated worthless blog promotion techniques over and over again. We will not do that,because there is something new on the horizon that is going to change everything in the coming months. It is called google caffeine and it has been talked about for a year but it is being implemented as this post is being made. Watch out your old SEO and blog promotion page ranking tips will be obsolete. Don’t worry we will be posting the new ways to promote your blog in the coming weeks.

Is Digg a waste of time when it comes to Blog Promotion ?

Digg can be used to drive new blog readers to your blog site.

Digg is a social news network site that is the at the top of its niche. When you write a new blog post if you do not have friends available to digg your blog post,then submit it yourself. It might never make it to the front page of digg but most posts never will anyway and it is still a good backlink to your site. Digg is said to keep track of  sites that just digg there own posts and penalize the sites, but if you are like me you really dont care. If you are striving to make it to the front page of digg good luck on that endeavor as it probaly wont happen.

And if it does happen then it will give you a one or 2 day spike in traffic but that is it. The way to get readers from digg is to write good content and have it submitted constantly. You will increase your readership some but dont expect digg to be the key to you growing your blog. Every year there is a new social network site that comes out that is a must for blog promotion. Twitter is the new kid on the block and I would put much more time into it this year than digg. I would still submit my stories to digg but dont waste to much time on digg as it is not the power site it once was with driving traffic to sites. Twitter is the winner in blog promotion, digg is how can I say it nice ? As my daughter would say Digg is so last year.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to have the name of your blog be tied into your particular niche. If you are thinking about starting a blog writing about custom cars then your blog name should have both of those words in the name of your blog. For instance customcarcraze or mycustomcars if these are available would be some good examples.

The shorter the name  of your url the better for your followers or readers to remember and to cut down on misspellings. One thing you will accomplish by naming your blog what you are writing about, is almost a guarantee that you will show up on google in the first 10 pages for custom cars. Googles natural algorithm will want to place you above other sites in your niche that do not have the targeted keyword in their name. Most of the short names are already bought by the url name buying business‘s then parked so they can sell it to a sucker for a profit if they want a particular name bad enough. I would advise you to keep thinking of new name combinations with your targeted keywords and you will eventually find a name that is suitable for your blog name. It can tick you off when you see all the names that are parked on a page with a directory or no content at all and they have the name you want. But dont give up, keep checking word combinations for your niche. Do not pay these people for that special name that they are sitting on,do not give into this extortion practice. If you came upon this post after you already registered a new name and started a blog. And your blog is not in the top 2 pages for your particular niche then I would consider starting over with a related blog name. Just transfer all your old articles to your name and start to swim with the current and watch how fast you move up the google page rankings with this blog promotion shortcut.
